Michelle Vranizan Rafter is a freelance reporter and blogger who writes about technology, workplace issues, business and the media. Current clients includes Workforce Management, Oregon Business and IncTechnology.com, Inc. magazine’s technology Website for small business.

Rafter also covers technology for Studio One Networks, a Web-based wire service that provides original stories for sites such as Wall Street & Technology.

In September 2007, Rafter started WordCount, a blog about freelancing in the age of digital media. Check out her new posts on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Rafter previously wrote a weekly column about the Internet for the Reuters wire service that appeared in papers and on Websites all over the world. She’s also written for the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, The Industry Standard, Internet World and other newspapers, magazines and Websites.

Rafter started her career as a staff business reporter at the Orange County Register covering the computer and consumer electronic industries.

In recent years, Rafter has also managed communications for volunteer organizations and produced auction catalogs, directories, newsletters and other publications for non-profit groups.

Rafter is a member of the Online News Association.

She lives in Portland, Oregon.
